We all saved lots of caps to containers, water bottles, lids and whatever we could recycle. The students placed all the lids where they wanted them and glued them down with outside clear Dap glue. (Make sure you get the non-toxic, safe for schools). Then I took them home and started screwing the lids down to the wood with short screws we had. I used old lumber for the stem, and put them in buckets with white rocks until permanently installed. Still have more Litter Bugs to finish screwing lids down, but wanted to get our first two posted since they turned out so cute for Open House night. | Hoping to get all of our bugs put up at school over the summer in the student garden as a surprise to the kids when they return in the fall. Fun school beautification, collaborative, and "green" project. |
Thank you to the Racine, Wisconsin Art Museum for the great idea, the kids loved this project!

Mrs. GobleI live and teach Art in Tracy, CA. I have the pleasure of teaching 650+ students 1st-8th. I am a busy teaching, going to school in the evenings to get my Masters in Visual Performing Arts, mom of two high school kids, and have had many foster children that have come into our hearts and home. I have been married for over 20+ years. I have been an Art Docent for over three years for Special Education classes 4th-8th. I love being creative in all areas of my life, and wanted to have a space to share all of the fun I have with my students everyday. Categories
